Reports: Eagles Hire Dave Fipp As Special Teams Coordinator

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – The Eagles have hired former Miami Dolphins assistant special teams coach Dave Fipp as their special teams coordinator, several reports indicate.

The Sun Sentinal and CSN Philly's Geoff Mosher report that although the team has not confirmed the hiring, NFL sources indicate that Fipp will join Chip Kelly's staff in Philadelphia.

Fipp has coached in the NFL since 2008, when he joined the San Francisco 49ers as assistant special teams coach. He joined the Dolphins in the same capacity in 2011. Prior to working for the 49ers, Fipp was the defensive coordinator for San Jose State.

Fipp replaces Bobby April, who joined the Oakland Raiders coaching staff last week.

The Eagles have not confirmed any coaches for Chip Kelly's staff yet.
