Saint Joe's Routs Penn 79-59 In Big 5 Matchup
PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Langston Galloway had 20 points and 10 rebounds, and Ronald Roberts had 16 points and 12 rebounds to lead Saint Joseph's past Pennsylvania 79-59 Saturday night.
Carl Jones scored 15 for the Hawks (10-6), who had lost two straight to their local rival.
Two free throws by C.J. Aiken broke a 17-17 tie with 7:08 remaining in the first half and started an 11-0 Saint Joseph's run that included two 3-pointers by Galloway.
Saint Joseph's padded its 32-21 halftime lead by shooting 64.3 percent (18 of 28) in the second half.
Darien Nelson-Henry scored 17 points for the Quakers (3-14), who on Thursday became the 11th Division I program to reach 1,700 victories but have lost nine of their last 10.
The game was played at the Palestra, but Saint Joseph's was designated the home team, a role that rotates in the series between the Philadelphia Big 5 teams.
