Delaware Hires Rutgers Assistant As Head Coach

NEWARK, Del. (AP) — Delaware has hired Rutgers offensive coordinator Dave Brock to be its new head football coach.

Brock has never been a head coach, but has been an offensive coordinator four times during his 22-year career as a college assistant. He spent one season at Rutgers under first-year coach Kyle Flood. He has also been the offensive coordinator at Hofstra, Temple and Kansas State, and has made stops at North Carolina and Boston College.

The 46-year-old Brock, a native of New Jersey, replaces K.C. Keeler, who was surprisingly fired earlier this month after 11 seasons at Delaware. Keeler went 86-52 with the Blue Hens and led them to a Division I-AA national title in 2003 and championship game appearances in 2007 and 2010.
