1 Dead, 1 Injured In House Fire In Delaware


ELSMERE, Del. (AP) — One person is dead and another seriously injured after a house fire in Delaware.

The state fire marshal's office says the blaze was reported Wednesday night at a townhouse on Sycamore Avenue in Elsmere.

One person was found dead inside the home and another person, who escaped, was being treated for burns and smoke inhalation. The medical examiner's office will determine the identity of the victim.

The fire also damaged two adjacent homes. Total damage estimates are $200,000.

The cause and origin of the fire are still being investigated.
