UPDATE: Victims Of Crash On Route 202 Identified

WEST WHITELAND TOWNSHIP, Pa. (CBS) – Police are investigating a deadly crash in Chester County.

The accident happened around 6 a.m. when a car slammed into a pole on the southbound side of Route 202 near Boot Road.

One person, identified as 22-year-old Claude Norris III, of Coatesville, was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene. Two others, Booker T. Gerald, 23; and driver James P. Wilkins, 22; both of Coatesville, were injured.

U.S. 202 was shut down from Boot Road to Route 100 for about six hours while crews conducted an investigation. Police say charges against Wilkins are pending.
