PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – The Mummers are taking the next couple of days to perfect their performances before Tuesday’s extravaganza and the public is invited to watch.

The Pennsylvania Convention Center’s doors open at 6 p.m. Sunday for Sneak Peek Night.

Fancy Brigade Association treasurer Jim Bradley says all the clubs are ready for showtime.

“It’s a dry run of New Year’s Day. Every club will perform in the order of march with all their props, just no costumes.”

It’s a family friendly event with food and face painting. Bradley says the clubs really look forward to this night because they only have two chances to show off their hard work on New Year’s Day.

“They love to see the people here and see the crowds and do it as many times as they can. They enjoy to be seen.”

All day Sunday, the string bands will gather at various locations throughout the city to practice their routines.
