Crews Work To Restore Power To Northeast Philadelphia Neighborhood

PHILADLEPHIA (CBS) – Officials say the cause of a power outage in Oxford Circle may be due to an issue with an underground transformer.

According to authorities, 1300 customers were without power due to a possible underground transformer explosion that happened around 6:30 a.m. on the 2100 block of Magee Avenue.

PECO crews are working to restore power to all customers and say everyone should have power by 5 p.m.

The cause of the outage is still under investigation. Water is being pumped to find the issue.
