As snow covers the Pocono Mountain ski trails, KYW's Jay Lloyd finds a western tradition that has reached Pennsylvania slopes.

BLAKESLEE, Pa. (CBS) -- It's called glade skiing: skiing through scenic and challenging woods on ungroomed trails.
"It's where the powder is," says Mark Daubert, who runs the Jack Frost and Big Boulder ski areas.
Glade skiing has been a popular attraction at Jack Frost, but this year it's been dramatically expanded on more trails, from peak to barbecue pit.
Even new sliders and riders get a crack at it.
"We've gladed 100 percent of our beginner area," Daubert says, "so the novice and intermediate skiers can get a taste of going through the woods."
The powerful snowmaking system at Jack Frost provides the cover, even under a canopy of branches.
"We crank our fans up and blow snow in the woods," Daubert explains.
It becomes a winter wonderland and a novel way to ring in the new year. Look it over at www.jfbb.com.
