Pedestrian Struck, Killed After Serious Accident In Burlington County

DELRAN, N.J. (CBS) – Police say a pedestrian was struck and killed early Saturday morning in Delran, New Jersey.

According to police, the incident happened as a pedestrian, Thomas Rooney, III, was trying to cross the road at the intersection of Rt. 130 and Tenby Chase Drive around 1 a.m.

The northbound lanes of Rt. 130 were closed so police could investigate.

The pedestrian was taken to Lourdes Medical Center of Burlington County where he was later pronounced.

The driver, James Hummel of Willingboro, has not been charged.

Police say the investigation in ongoing.
