Short-Handed Penn Falls To Delaware 83-60

NEWARK, Del. (AP) — Jamelle Hagins and Jarvis Threatt scored 18 points each as Delaware topped Pennsylvania 83-60 Friday night in nonconference play.

Hagins, who entered fourth in Division I with 12.1 rebounds per game, added 13 boards for his eighth double-double this season. Threatt added seven rebounds and four assists and Devon Saddler and Terrell Rogers had 12 points for the Blue Hens (4-8)

Penn (2-8) was without five regulars — including its second-leading scorer, Miles Cartwright — out for violating team rules, according to a team spokesman.

Delaware held a 51-35 rebounding advantage — including 24 offensive boards. While Delaware shot 39.5 percent to Penn's 39 percent, the Blue Hens, got 81 shots, making 32, while Penn made 23 of just 59.

The Quakers led 10-2 after 3 minutes and stayed ahead until Marvin King-Davis' consecutive buckets sparked a 13-2 run to end the half and put the Blue Hens up 32-26.
