Spielberg's 'Lincoln' Leads Golden Globe Nominees

BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. (AP) - Steven Spielberg is bringing new glory to Abraham Lincoln.

The Civil War epic "Lincoln'' leads the Golden Globes with seven nominations, among them best drama, best director for Spielberg and acting honors for Daniel Day-Lewis, Sally Field and Tommy Lee Jones.

Here are a few of the other nominees announced Thursday morning:

Best television comedy or musical series: "The Big Bang Theory,'' "Episodes,'' "Girls,'' "Modern Family'' and "Smash.''

Best television drama series: "Boardwalk Empire,'' "Breaking Bad,'' "Downton Abbey,'' "Homeland'' and "The Newsroom."

Best musical or comedy film: "The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel,'' "Les Miserables,'' "Moonrise Kingdom,'' "Salmon Fishing in the Yemen,'' and "Silver Linings Playbook.''

Best dramatic film: "Argo,'' "Lincoln,'' "Life of Pi,'' "Django Unchained,'' "Zero Dark Thirty.''

Best actor in a television comedy or musical series: Alec Baldwin, "30 Rock''; Don Cheadle, "House of Lies''; Louis C.K. "Louie'', Matt LeBlanc, "Episodes''; Jim Parsons, "The Big Bang Theory.''

Best actress in a dramatic film: Jessica Chastain, "Zero Dark Thirty''; Marion Cotillard, "Rust and Bone''; Helen Mirren, "Hitchcock''; Naomi Watts, "The Impossible''; Rachel Weisz, "The Deep Blue Sea.''

Best actor in a musical or comedy film: Hugh Jackman, "Les Miserables''; Jack Black, "Bernie''; Bradley Cooper, "Silver Linings Playbook''; Bill Murray, "Hyde Park on Hudson''; Ewan McGregor, "Salmon Fishing in the Yemen.''

Best actress in a television drama series: Connie Britton, "Nashville''; Glenn Close, "Damages''; Claire Danes, "Homeland''; Michelle Dockery, "Downton Abbey''; and Julianna Margulies, "The Good Wife.''

Best actor in a television drama series: Steve Buscemi, "Boardwalk Empire''; Bryan Cranston, "Breaking Bad''; Jeff Daniels, "The Newsroom''; Jon Hamm, "Mad Men''; and Damian Lewis, "Homeland.''
