1 Man Arrested, 1 Sought in Thefts From Delco Self-Storage Facility

By Brad Segall

PRIMOS, Pa. (CBS) -- One man is in custody and another is being sought in connection with a string of break-ins and thefts from a self storage facility in Delaware County.

Upper Darby police executed a search warrant at an East Lansdowne apartment over the weekend, where they found several thousand dollars' worth of property allegedly stolen from "A Storage Depot" in Primos, Pa.

Police arrested 44-year-old Dallas Jackson and were looking for his roommate, 38-year-old Michael Cripps.

Upper Darby police superintendent Michael Chitwood says it was an online auction that led police to the two men.

"They sold merchandise to an unsuspecting person who was an auctioneer, and then that auctioneer put it on eBay and one of the victims saw the merchandise," Chitwood tells KYW Newsradio.

Chitwood says the two men rented lockers, which gave them access to the entire property and the access codes to get in.

He says they broke into other lockers, stole collectibles and furnishings, then rented U-Haul trucks to cart off the stolen goods.
