New Jersey Man Calls Cops After Being Robbed While Trying To Buy Drugs

CLEMENTON, N.J. (CBS) – A New Jersey man called police after being robbed of cash while trying to buy drugs, investigators said.

The incident happened at about 2:50 p.m. on Saturday at the La Cascata complex in Clementon, New Jersey.

Investigators say the incident began when Walter Bricker 2nd was attempting to buy drugs from Anthony Truitt and Valerie Walters.

According to investigators, Truitt and Walters planned the robbery and used a knife to rob Bricker 2nd of $1,400 in cash.

Walters was taken into custody shortly after police arrived. Truitt was later apprehended by the Lindenwold Police Department and turned over to the Gloucester Township Police Department.

The knife used in the robbery, as well as part of the cash proceeds, were recovered.

Bricker 2nd was charged with Criminal Attempt to Distribute a Controlled Dangerous Substance and Criminal Attempt to Possess a Controlled Dangerous Substance and released.

Both Walters and Truitt were charged with first degree robbery, second degree possession of a weapon while committing a narcotics distribution offense, third degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and fourth degree unlawful possession of a weapon.

They are being held at the Camden County Correctional Facility in lieu of $100,000 full cash bail.
