Video: Diamond Dallas Page Tries To Save Jake "The Snake" Roberts

By Spike Eskin

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – If you've kept up with some of the more popular wrestlers of the 1980's and early 90's, you probably know that Jake "The Snake" Roberts is in pretty bad shape. Another former wrestler, "Diamond" Dallas Page is trying to do something about it.

Roberts, whose real name is Aurelian Smith, Jr, was profiled in the popular documentary film "Beyond The Mat." The movie showed Roberts' fall from grace, divorce, drug abuse, and a broken relationship with his daughter. His fame largely ended around 1992, and Beyond The Mat was released in 1999.

Page, whose real name is Page Joseph Falkenberg, has seen his life go in an opposite direction. While recovering from back surgery, he became familiar with Yoga, and turned it into a book called Yoga for Regular Guys Workout, and a series of instructional videos.

Page posted a video on his website, which is a teaser for something called "The Resurrection Of Jake "The Snake" Roberts," where Page goes to Roberts, and tries to get his life back on track. Page doesn't indicate whether this is going to be a movie or a series of web videos. Either way, it's pretty compelling.
