Montgomery County District Attorney Needs Your Vote To Aid Charity

By Walt Hunter

NORRISTOWN (CBS) -- The Montgomery County District Attorney needs your vote more than ever.

But it has nothing to do with the elected office she holds.

District Attorney Risa Vetri-Ferman has been honored as one of 10 Women of Worth nationwide by L'Oreal Paris, earning a donation of $10,000 for "Mission Kids," a charity she helped found to heal abused children.

That, however, is just the start.

Now Ferman is competing with nine other women for a $25,000 prize that would go to "Mission Kids," a facility that provides care and counseling for abused children, easing their burden by allowing doctors, social workers and criminal investigators to interact with victims at one specialized location, instead of forcing them to travel to many different places.

Ferman says being involved in L'Oreal's "Cover Shoot" as part of the contest was certainly not part of her job description as the county's top prosecutor. She quickly adds, however, that she's happy to do anything to help the children through "Mission Kids."

If you want to help the children, Ferman asks for your vote. You can vote once each day for the next three weeks by clicking on this link.
