BLOG: Chase Bank Waives Fees Until 11/5

By Jim Donovan:  As the clean-up after Hurricane Sandy continues, Chase has extended automatic fee waivers for consumers and small business customers in Connecticut, Delaware, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Virginia, and Washington, DC.

The bank will give customers until the end of business on Monday, November 5th to make a deposit or a payment to bring their account current and avoid fees.

The waived fees include:

- Overdraft Protection Transfer, Extended Overdraft, Returned Item and Insufficient Funds Fees for deposit accounts.

- Late fees on credit cards, business and consumer loans, including mortgages, home-equity, auto and student loans.

In addition, Chase is waiving all mortgage-related fees and offering 90 days of forbearance mortgage payments for customers seeking assistance in the impacted areas.  Chase says if customers need more specific help they should call 1-888-356-0023.
