Saanvi has been missing since Monday. Authorities believe she was abducted from her home in the Marquis Apartments in King of Prussia where her grandmother was found dead. As police try to piece together what happened, there was an overwhelming presence at Heuser Park Wednesday night for a candlelight vigil.
“This is in memory of my aunt, as well as offering prayers for the safe return of Saanvi,” said Vijaya Reddy, the missing girl’s aunt. “I deeply appreciate that these many people could come and show support and pray with us.”
Reddy, and other family members and friends, also reminded those in attendance of a then $30,000 reward for information leading to the missing girl.READ MORE: Chestnut Hill Hospital To Be Renamed If Sale Goes Through
There are still a lot of questions that have to be answered, but those gathered shared a bond of culture, language and a common hope.
“We’re from the same region back home in South India. We really feel the loss. This is a big tragedy for all of us,” said Anu, from West Chester.
“Within the U.S., in other cities, people are organizing this kind of prayer and vigils,” explained Ravi. “It gives some consolation to us. Everyone is agitated because of this incident so it gives some comfort.”
The prayers being said called for peace for the grieving family. Even though there are more questions than answers at this point there was a hope they could return to this park once again.
“We are hoping Saanvi can come back,” Anu said. “And we can have her big birthday party.”MORE NEWS: Sheriff's Deputies Dismantle Protest Encampment At Site Of University City Townhomes
