Angelo Cataldi And Ed Rendell Remember Arlen Specter

By Spike Eskin

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Anyone who listens to Angelo Cataldi and the 94WIP Morning Show knows that Arlen Specter loved sports, and always found a way to spin a Philadelphia sports story in a positive way. Specter was a regular guest on the show, and was remembered today by Cataldi, and former Pennsylvania governor Ed Rendell.

"He was a great sports fan, almost always in the contingent of Philly fans, who would go down to National stadium rooting on the fightin' Phils. He was a great sports fan," Rednell said in an interview on the 94WIP Morning Show on Monday.

"Shanin Specter, his wonderful son and incredibly successful lawyer, called me about 4 minutes before kickoff and told me about, and I instinctively looked to the end of the row because that's where Arlen and his good friend Fred Anton had sat since the Linc opened, and of course he wasn't there. As the game went on, I almost became happy that Arlen didn't see that debacle yesterday," Rendell said.
