Penn Comes Back Late To Beat Columbia 24-20

PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Billy Ragone threw a pair of fourth-quarter touchdowns — including one with 50 seconds left — and the University of Pennsylvania overcame a 10-point deficit to beat Columbia 24-20 in Ivy League action Saturday.

The Quakers (2-3, 2-0) trailed 20-10 early in the fourth. Ragone cut the deficit with a 16-yard scoring pass to Mitchell King, and then marched Penn down the field once more for the winner — a 6-yard score to Lyle Marsh in the back left corner of the end zone with 50 seconds left.

Columbia (1-4, 0-2) drove the length of the field on the ensuing drive, but Hamilton Garner was tackled at the 2-yard line by Dan Wilk on the last play of the game.

Ragone finished the game 18 of 34 for 181 yards and three touchdowns.

The win was Penn's 16th straight against the Lions. Penn leads the series 70-21-1 all-time.
