Want To Be A Phillies Ballgirl? You Have Until Monday To Apply

By Chelsea Karnash

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – The application deadline is looming for a much-coveted Philadelphia gig.

If you've ever wanted to be a Phillies ballgirl, you have until Monday to apply. The team is seeking 15-20 new ballgirls for the 2013 season.

To be considered, you must 18 or over with an outgoing personality, good communication skills, softball experience and an understanding of the rules of baseball, according to the MLB's website.

In addition to participating in games and retrieving foul balls, Phillies ballgirls are expected to act as "community ambassadors" for the team and make about 150 off-field appearances each year at events like charity fundraisers.

To apply, you'll need to send in a standard resume and a two minute DVD showing off your softball skills and explaining why you'd be a great ballgirl. From there, 60-100 applicants will receive an invitation to try out for a spot in person. After the in-person tryout, about 20 potential ballgirls will be selected.

The final group will be chosen before Thanksgiving.
