PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Chestnut Hill has made the American Planning Association’s 2012 list of Great Neighborhoods in America.

Every year the APA selects neighborhoods, streets and public spaces for the Great Places in America list.

Places are chosen based on architectural features, functionality, community involvement and accessibility. They also look at the cultural and historical interest, vision for tomorrow, community involvement and having a true sense of place.

Other local areas that have made APA’s Greatest Places list include Society Hill, Philadelphia in 2008; South Broad Street, Philadelphia in 2008; Haddon Avenue, Collingswood, New Jersey in 2009 and Rittenhouse Square, Philadelphia in 2010.
