By Hadas Kuznits

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Some Hollywood stars made it out to a voter registration drive in Germantown Saturday afternoon.

Sana Moore, a neighborhood team leader for a voter registration drive in Germantown says it's important to get the word out about the upcoming general election.

"Because we're getting close to the campaign and it's only like 9 or 10 days left to register to vote," Moore explains.

So they brought out the star power.

"We have Alfre Woodard here and we have Phylicia Rashad," she says.

Woodard, who most recently acted in True Blood says volunteers are manning the phones and knocking on doors.

"To make sure that they are registered to vote by the 9th of October; that's the main thing. The other thing is that make sure that you have a valid ID," says Woodard.

Phylicia Reshad, best know as TV's Mrs. Huxtable urges folks to make sure they are eligible to vote.

"Please, let us do this. Let us do this now. Don't wait for the deadline, let's do it now," says Reshad.
