1 Dead, Another Injured In West Philadelphia Shooting

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - A shooting in West Philadelphia Wednesday afternoon left one man dead and another injured.

It happened at about 3 p.m. near South 63rd and Catherine streets in the Cobbs Creek section of the city.

According to police, a 23-year-old was shot in the chest in the chest and arms. He was taken to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania where he later died, police said.

A 21-year-old man was shot in the arm and is listed in stable condition at Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital.

Investigators say a gun was recovered in the vehicle the 23-year-old man was driving.

The shooting is under investigation.
