Philadelphia Police Searching For Suspects In Rita's Water Ice Robbery

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Police are investigating a robbery at a Rita's Water Ice in the city's Logan neighborhood last week.

It happened at about 10 p.m. on Wednesday, August 29th at the Rita's Water Ice on the 1600 block of Belfield Avenue.

The employees were in the process of closing when two unknown men approached one of them while she was outside the store. When the employee noticed one of the suspects had a gun, she ran into the store and the suspects followed her.

While inside, one of the suspects forced both employees onto the floor as the second suspect took an undisclosed amount of money from the register, according to police. Both suspects fled on foot in an unknown direction.

The armed suspect is described as a black male in his late teens to early 20s, about 5 feet 8 inches tall, with a medium build and dark complexion. He was wearing a dark blue hooded sweatshirt with a "New York Yankees" logo on the sleeve, black basketball shorts, and white sneakers. Police say he was carrying a silver handgun.

The second suspect is also described as a black male in his late teens to early 20s. He was wearing a white and black striped hooded sweatshirt, black shorts and black sneakers.
