Have A Safe Holiday Weekend
By Dr. Brian McDonough, Medical Editor
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Labor Day is one of those holidays that is bittersweet. It is a great opportunity to get together with family and friends and there is no doubt that September is one of the most pleasant months of the year. But, it also is the end of the summer and for kids it means a return to school.
For me, Labor Day presents the same major concern every year. It seems every Labor Day holiday there are auto accidents that are the result of individuals leaving a gathering after having too much to drink. What starts as a happy time ends up as a crisis situation.
If you are going to be out on the road make sure you and your loved ones are wearing seat belts and most important, make certain that you are not under the influence when you take the wheel.
You don't want to be a statistic.
