Eagles Cut 20 Players, Including Mike Kafka, Roster Stands At 55

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – The Eagles have until 9pm Friday night to get their roster down to 53 players, after the just announced cuts, they're already at 56.

The Eagles report they've cut the following players: CB Joselio Hanson, S OJ Atogwe, TE Brett Brackett, LB Keenan Clayton, DT Landon Cohen, TE Chase Ford, WR Mardy Gilyard, WR Chad Hall, FB Emil Igwenagu, T DJ Jones, WR Marvin McNutt, LB Adrian Moten, LB Ryan Rau, DT Ollie Ogbu, DE Monte Taylor, S Phillip Thomas, DT Frank Trotter, OL Steve Vallos, and OL Brandon Washington.

Trent Edwards has been named the third string QB, and Mike Kafka has been released.  Punter Matt McBriar is also likely to be cut. The Eagles are still at 11 defensive linemen and five running backs.

Brackett, Ford, Hall, Igwenagu, Jones, McNutt, Ogbu, Rau, Taylor, Thomas, Trotter and Washington all have practice squad eligibility.

In addition, the Eagles and G Mike Gibson reached an injury settlement and he has been released from their Injured Reserve list.
