RADNOR, Pa. (CBS) – Police in Delaware County are searching for a suspect in connection with an attempted sexual assault inside an apartment.

The incident happened at about 3:25 a.m. on August 25th inside an apartment in the 200 block of Landover Road in Radnor.

According to investigators, the female victim heard knocking on her interior bedroom door. Believing it was her roommate, the victim opened the door to her bedroom.

As she opened her door, she was knocked to the floor by the suspect who was naked from the waist down.

“The male immediately attempted to gain control of the female. While she was on the ground, the female began to struggle,” said Radnor Twp. Police Lt. Christopher Flanagan

After screaming for help, the suspect ran out of the apartment.

The attempted sexual assault has rattled neighbors.

“I would have never had thought some guy would come into someone’s home and try to assault them. That scares me,” neighbor Morgan Roselle said.

Villanova University senior Jason Frandi read an email he says the school sent to students warning them about the incident.

“Hopefully police around here take care of whoever this guy was,” Frandi said.

The suspect is described as a black male, who was wearing a gray t-shirt and a red piece of clothing over his face. Investigators said he was naked from the waist down.

The victim suffered minor physical injuries.
