New Poll Overlooks Philadelphia As A Technological City

By Hadas Kuznits

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Philadelphia did not make the list in a new poll ranking the top ten U.S. technology cities and it appears many residents aren't surprised.

In a technological ranking by the National Venture Association, San Francisco, which is home to the top ten most visited websites is the top technological city not only in the United States, but in the world.

Boston, the home of Harvard and MIT follows, with New York placing third.

Philadelphia is nowhere to be found on the list.

"I think they got it right," one woman said.

"It's not the first thing that comes to mind,"  this man says. "Philly is a city for me of food, culture, people, arts, sports."

Folks seemed to be in agreement that there are things that could be done that would lead to Philadelphia becoming more of a tech city.

"I think Philadelphia would really have to find potential investors from technology companies and really work to entice them to move their operations over here," this resident said.

Rounding out the top five technological cities are Los Angeles and Washington DC.
