AAA Offers Senior Driver Training Course Online

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - AAA's Senior Driver training course is offered in classrooms and, now, online. The announcement coincides with National Senior Citizens Day.

"Driving is a really critical skill, and seniors want to stay mobile. And it's been a long time since they took their driving test, and it's good to have that refresher."

AAA MidAtlantic's Jenny Robinson says the online course allows older drivers to learn and work at their own pace.

And, she says, it helps keep seniors in the driver's seat, "Nearly 90 percent of senior drivers tell AAA that it's important to them to keep driving, and they will do what it takes to stay safe, because it's a part of staying independent and mobile."

Since the online Senior Driver course is approved by PennDOT, those who've completed it may qualify for insurance discounts. It costs $15.95 for AAA members and $19.95 for non-members.  (aaa.com/drivertraining)
