Police: 15-Year-Old Behind The Wheel In Bustleton Hit-Run

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Police say a 15-year-old was driving a stolen car that was involved in a hit and run in Northeast Philadelphia early Wednesday morning.

The teen suspect remains on the loose.

The joyride came to a crashing halt at the intersection of Red Lion Road and Haldeman Avenue in the city's Bustleton section.

According to investigators, the 15-year-old suspect was driving a stolen car southbound on Red Lion Road at a high rate of speed.

At the same time, a minivan was turning left at the intersection when it was slammed into by the stolen car.

The 15-year-old driver of the stolen car then took off on foot, leaving behind two juvenile passengers in the car.

The driver of the minivan was taken to an area hospital to be treated for minor injuries.

Police are searching for the 15-year-old suspect, but they say they know his identity.

The incident remains under investigation.
