Teen Arrested For Tearing Up Gloucester Township Fields

BLACKWOOD, N.J. (CBS) -– A Gloucester Township teen was arrested on Wednesday for allegedly tearing up local football fields with his truck.

According to the Gloucester Township Police Department, 19-year-old Kyle Chute was arrested Wednesday afternoon for Criminal Mischief and Reckless Driving.

Police were first notified of the field damage by the Gloucester Township Public Works employees on Monday, July 30.

The public works employees reported that a vehicle had driven onto the football fields at the Marge Martin Sports Park at 425 Woodbury Turnersville Road. They claimed that the truck did "donuts" on several parts of the field, causing severe damage.

Authorities were able to confirm this report with surveillance video, which showed a red truck entering the park complex and tearing up the grass at 1:31 a.m. on Sunday, July 29.

The video also recorded the truck's license plate, allowing police to trace the vehicle back to Chute's residence on the 100 block of East Court in Blackwood, N.J.

Chute was charged by Gloucester Township Police and released on a summons.
