Cullen Jenkins Injury Not Serious

By Ed Benkin

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – The Eagles received some good news on one of their injured defensive linemen.

Defensive Tackle Cullen Jenkins left practice early on Wednesday with a hamstring injury.  However, Jenkins said the injury is not serious and he expects to miss little time.  Jenkins will still take a cautious approach with his return to the field. "You don't want it to turn into something worse," he said.  "Especially this time of year, you'll probably be a little more cautious than you would during the regular season."

Jenkins joins Mike Patterson, Trent Cole and Jason Babin on the list of injured Eagles defensive linemen.  Players such as Vinny Curry are seeing more time on the field due to the injuries, but the rookie says he's taken the same approach throughout training camp.

"I just gotta make sure I'm doing my part with the reps," Curry said.  "I have to make sure I'm in the proper spots where I need to be so I can earn my teammates' trust."

First round draft pick Fletcher Cox is also benefitting from the injuries to the top linemen, but Cox believes it's all part of the process going through camp.

"You're in training camp and guys go down," said Cox.  "You've just gotta take it and look at it as more reps.  You never want to see a guy get hurt."
