PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – If you like trade rumors, the next 30 or so hours should be pretty exciting for you.

Last night, KPIX in San Francisco reported that the Giants had a “deal in place,” for Phillies right-fielder Hunter Pence. The deal, it was reported, needed ownership approval because of the salary the Giants would have to take on.

Since that report, a “Giants official” denied its validity to CBS Sports’ Jon Heyman.

The last time I read “just needs ownership approval,” it was related to a deal between Ryan Madson and the Phillies. A deal, by the way, that never happened.
