Philadelphia Police Investigate Another Round Of Tire Slashing

By Al Novack, Jenn Bernstein

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – More tires were slashed Sunday morning, but this time the vandalism occurred in South Philadelphia.

Police say tires were slashed on at least nine vehicles along the 1900 block of South Hicks Street.

The slashings happened overnight and were discovered early Sunday morning.

"My husband left for work about (6:15) this morning," says Anna Hamerski. "And he comes walking back in and he said 'babe, my tire's slashed.'"

Several neighbors told Eyewitness News that this isn't the first time they've seen this.

"About a month-and-a-half ago, someone slashed all four of my tires and keyed my car." says Joseph Kelley. "I just got it back, $4,000 later."

Car vandalism received a lot of attention in Philadelphia after police arrested David Toledo, who allegedly slashed tires repeatedly in the city's Mayfair section. Toledo was expected to be in court on Thursday

No suspects or arrests were made initially. The investigation was ongoing.
