PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The woman police dubbed the "Black Madam" has been charged with Third Degree Murder, Conspiracy, Reckless Endangerment, Possessing an Instrument of Crime, and Unauthorized Practice of Medicine for the 2011 death of a British woman.
Padge Windslowe, 43, was charged by District Attorney Seth Williams on Tuesday afternoon around 4:30 p.m.
Windslowe is believed to be responsible for the 2011 death of Claudia Aderotimi, 20, who died not long after receiving a liquid silicone injection in a hotel near the Philadelphia International Airport.
Police have investigated other instances in which they say Winsdslowe performed injections at parties.
"Padge Windslowe's arrogance and blatant disregard for human life is shocking," said District Attorney Seth Williams. "Her conduct cost one young woman her life and placed countless others in danger. The defendant put her own greed above the public's health and safety, and instead of being remorseful she bragged about prospective clients."
Padge Windslowe was arraigned on these new charges today and is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on August 8, 2012.
