Local Environmental Group Says Electric Cars Are Ready To Roll in Pa.

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- An environmental advocacy organization based in Philadelphia today released a report on electric cars and their benefits to Pennsylvanians.
The press conference was held inside the parking garage of the Pennsylvania Convention Center at 11th and Arch Streets, which contains 18 plug-in charging stations -- the largest number in the area.
Those charging stations will likely be used more in the coming years, according to Adam Garber, the field director for PennEnvironment.
"In fact, in the next three years the Center for Automotive Research expects that over 15,000 Pennsylvanians will own and drive these kinds of electric cars, meaning they will no longer need to go to the gas station. Over that time period, once those cars are bought, they will significantly reduce air pollution and the oil we need."
