Soul Look For Revenge Against Spokane

By Matt Leon

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Just two games left in the regular season for the Arena League's Philadelphia Soul.  One of them is Sunday night as they host Spokane.

It has been a wonderful season for the Soul.  They have a 13-3 record, but one of those three blemishes came at the hands of the Shock back on May 18th, 65-47, in Washington.

"They are a good football team," Soul coach Doug Plank tells KYW Newsradio. "They have really good athletes, and most importantly in Arena Football, like every level of football, you have to have a quarterback and they have won in (Kyle) Rowley.  Accurate, moves around in the pocket well, he's a leader, doesn't make foolish mistakes and he really takes control of that team."

Philadelphia has clinched everything there is to clinch this regular season, but they haven't taken their foot off the gas as they bring a six-game winning streak into Sunday.

"I think the important thing is this sport is like any other sport, you need momentum going into the end of the season and the playoffs," Plank says.

Soul will have a bye next week and then they will wrap up the 2012 regular season on July 22nd at home against Utah.
