Occupy To Return To Philadelphia During Fourth Of July Festivities

By John McDevitt

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Occupy groups from across the country are headed to Philadelphia for a five day national gathering. This coincides with the city's annual Fourth of July festivities. The gathering starts 11:00 a.m. Saturday morning along Independence Mall.

Some of the occupy national gathering demonstrations are expected to take place outside of Independence Hall where the Liberty Bell first tolled and the Declaration of Independence and Constitution were signed.

Mayor Michael Nutter says everyone has the right to exercise freedom of speech.

"Come say whatever it is you're going to say, the law applies to everyone equally. You can come here, have a good time, exercise your freedom of speech, but no one has the right to act like an idiot," says Mayor Nutter.

The city has been preparing for the Occupy gathering as well as events planned by a spin off group. Tea party activists will be here too as a million of others take in the city's fireworks, concerts and other events.
