Brandy Halladay Says Roy Halladay Will Be Back In 6-8 Weeks

By Spike Eskin

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Phillies fans want Roy Halladay back on the mound as soon as possible. His wife Brandy, shares that sentiment.

"I'd like him back ASAP as well," Brandy Halladay told the 94WIP Morning show. "So, you know, it's not all fun and games at home when grumpy men don't get to pitch." Halladay has been sidelined with a right shoulder strain.

"He's actually doing well. He started throwing last week and he felt pretty good, so the rehab process has  begun. Hopefully it'll only be six to eight weeks before he can be back out there helping his team," she said.

"It sounds like a long time, and this is one of the things that I truly love about Philly," Halladay said.  "When you have guys that are worth it, this team is an amazing team, you don't want to push it and hurt them again and delay that process even longer."

Brandy Halladay called the show to promote the Phans Feeding Families event at Citizens Bank Park, which will raise funds for local hunger relief efforts. You can find out more about that HERE.

When Roy Halladay was placed on the injured list three weeks ago (May 28th), he was expected to be back in 6-8 weeks. Brandy's update would suggest that recovery will take a few weeks longer than originally expected. What do you think?
