2012 U.S. Open Underway in San Francisco

By Matt Leon

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – The best golfers in the world have descended on the bay area.

The Olympic Club in San Francisco is the sight of the 2012 U.S. Open.

Rory McIlroy is the defending U.S. Open champion but this year's field is wide open, it includes a guy named Tiger Woods.  Woods is actually playing in about as high profile a group as you can get as he is joined by Phil Mickelson and Masters champion Bubba Watson.

McIlroy is also in a high profile group, playing with Lee Westwood and Luke Donald.

KYW's Matt Leon spoke with Joe Juliano, who is covering things out in San Francisco for the Philadelphia Inquirer, about what to expect over the next four days.
