Struggling Phillies Host Dodgers Again

By Matt Leon

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – The losing streak has hit four for the Phillies after that heart-breaking 2-1 loss to Los Angeles Tuesday night at Citizens Bank Park.

It looked like Cliff Lee was finally going to win for the first time in 2012 last night as he dazzled the Dodgers for seven innings.  However, LA scored two runs with two outs in the 8th to drop the lefthander to 0-3.

Tonight, Kyle Kendrick will get the start for Charlie Manuel.  Kendrick is 2-4 on the season and he is the last Phillies pitcher to win a game - he beat the Marlins back on Friday.  In his career against Los Angeles, Kendrick is 4-3 but his ERA is 8.01.

Los Angeles will counter with 7-2 left-hander Chris Capuano.  He has a nifty 2.50 ERA this season.

Phillies will get Jim Thome back for this one.  The veteran power hitter has been activated off the disabled list.  To make room for him, infielder Pete Orr has been optioned to AAA.

KYW's Matt Leon spoke with Phillies broadcaster Chris Wheeler about the Phils recent struggles and tonight's match-up.
