Authorities: Memorial Day Traffic Moving Well, For The Most Part

TRENTON, N.J. (AP) — Authorities say traffic is moving well in most of New Jersey this Memorial Day weekend, though some volume-related delays are being reported on the New Jersey Turnpike and other major highways.

No major problems were being reported as of late Saturday morning. But motorists were still being urged to allow extra travel times to reach their destinations.

Turnpike officials say southbound traffic is slow for about 10 miles in the area of the merge near interchanges 8 and 8A. Volume also was heavy in some spots along the Garden State Parkway, and southbound traffic is moving slowly for several miles between Tinton Falls and Lakewood.
