Swim Coach Accused Of Having Sex With Student Waives Preliminary Hearing

By David Madden

CHESTER COUNTY, Pa. (CBS) -- A Chester County swim coach has waived a preliminary hearing on charges he had sex with a high school girl.

Forty-seven-year-old Kenneth Fuller was arrested a week ago, accused of having three encounters with a member of the West Chester Rustin High School swim team that he's coached for the last three years. The affair started less than a month ago, and on one occasion, he posed as the victim's father to get her out of class for a rendezvous.

"A waiver of a preliminary hearing always helps with the victim. It presents the victim from having to go through the event yet again," says Chester County DA Tom Hogan.

But the victim may have to do that should the case actually go to trial. Fuller remains free on a quarter million dollars cash bail. He was not a classroom teacher, but he's been banned from the school altogether.
