Officials: California Man Attempted To Ship Marijuana To South Jersey

MOUNT HOLLY, N.J. (AP) — Authorities say a California man shipped about 250 pounds of high-grade marijuana — valued at $1 million — to a public storage facility in southern New Jersey.

The Burlington County Prosecutor's office announced Tuesday that 55-year-old Thomas Arnold of Santa Barbara was arrested last week after a cargo container with 15 large boxes of marijuana inside arrived at the facility in Delran.

Arnold is charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute. He remains jailed in New Jersey on $250,000 cash bail.

It was not known Tuesday if Arnold has retained a lawyer.
