Body Of Missing Woman Melanie Colon Found In Juniata

By Oren Liebermann And Kim Glovas

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – A woman's decomposed body found in the Juniata Park section of Philadelphia early Saturday has been identified.

Police have identified the victim as 22-year-old Melanie Colon of North Reese Street. She died from multiple gunshot wounds. Her father, Louis Colon, says she was last seen with Reynaldo Torres on Tuesday evening.

"The guy she was with, I want him to show his face."

The two were in a 1983 gold Mazda that night, but the car was recovered on Rockland Street in Feltonville. Torres was also reported missing last week.

Colon's body was found by a passerby Saturday morning behind an apartment building on Maple Lane near Wyoming Avenue. Her mother, Zoraida Miranda, is asking for the culprit to come forward.

"Please just come and come forward and give us some peace for our daughter, and show yourself and give us justice."
