Jerry Sandusky's Lawyer Again Asks For Trial Delay

By Tony Romeo

HARRISBURG, Pa. (CBS) – Jerry Sandusky is again asking a judge to delay the June start date of his trial on child sex abuse charges.

In a new motion filed in Centre County Court, Sandusky's lawyer cites delays in receiving discovery materials from the prosecution, and, in particular, cites the fact that the Commonwealth just provided at least 100 pages, nine CDs and a hard drive of information on Monday.

The defense also complains that it cannot access the information contained on the CDs and the hard drive, and asks for paper copies.

The defense also says it has not been able to access phone records it needs, citing its belief that some alleged victims have "collaborated" with each other.

The motion also states the belief that the Commonwealth's investigation is continuing, meaning more information will be forthcoming.

For those and other reasons, Sandusky's attorney is again asking the judge to delay the start of the trial, now scheduled for June 5th.
