Home Video Report: Older Goodies Now on Blu-ray

By Bob Nelson

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- No question, we're headed for a banner period in which classic reissues on Blu-ray become major audience pleasers.

There's the 1959 pairing of Doris Day and Rock Hudson in Pillow Talk, the best of the couple's romantic comedies.

The year 1968 gave us Jane Fonda in the erotic comedy Barbarella, the effort of several writers including Roger Vadim, Fonda's husband at the time.

Michelle Pfeiffer created several popular films including the still-popular Scarface from 1983 (photo), which she shared with the popular Al Pacino.

Then there's the giddy 1984 monster mash, Gremlins Two, which played as well to youngsters as to their giggling parents.
