By Steve Beck

WEST GOSHEN, Pa. (CBS) -- Police in Chester County arrested a man they say is responsible for the thefts of nearly 60 pairs of women's underwear from apartment complex laundry rooms in the past seven months.

Jeffrey A. Lloyd, 44, of Bridgeton, New Jersey, is facing several charges in connection to the panty theft incidents that began in November of 2011.

According to investigators, the serial panty thefts began on November 17th, 2011 at the Waterview Apartments in East Goshen Township. Police say 26 pairs of underwear were stolen on two occasions from the laundry room area of the apartment complex.

Investigators say 20 pairs of underwear were then stolen from the laundry area of the Goshen Manor Apartments in West Goshen from September 2011 to December 2011.

The underwear theft spree came to end when investigators say Lloyd was caught in the act on April 13th. Police responded to the Goshen Manor Apartments for the report of a suspicious person.

When police arrived, they located Lloyd and interviewed him. Authorities say he was found to have 12 pairs of women's underwear in his possession.

After an investigation, police say Lloyd was the same suspect captured on surveillance cameras at the Waterview Apartments.

The West Goshen Police Department charged Lloyd with three counts of theft by unlawful taking or disposition and three counts of receiving stolen property. The Westtown-East Goshen Regional Police Department charged Lloyd with four counts of theft by unlawful taking or disposition and four counts of receiving stolen property.

Lloyd was arraigned and is being held on $5,000 bail.
