Center City Philadelphia Weather Beckons Lunch-Goers To Linger A While Longer

By Michelle Durham

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Today it was sunny and warm outside, with near-record temperatures, and people were finding any excuse they could to get out to enjoy their lunch hour out of doors.

At the Comcast Center, where there is an outdoor restaurant and plenty of tables and chairs on the nearby plaza for people to soak up the sun, the mood was what you would expect -- happy!

"I work at the Comcast Center," said Lee, "so I figured it's so beautiful I'd sit outside and have lunch. It's awesome -- awesome!"

"It's beautiful outside, sunny, warm," said Mike, who added that he was hoping for "a little tan. We always come out for lunch, but now that we can sit outside, it's nice. This is one for the first times we can sit outside, so it's a nice change."

"We've got a sold-out plaza tonight," said Chris Scarduzio (right), who owns Table 31, the outdoor restaurant at the Comcast Center. "Today...party, the weather, Mother Nature -- it's a whole rebirth for the city today."

Scarduzio says his customers were happily ordering glasses of white wine and light food, like panini, as they soaked up every minute of this wonderful weather.
