Villanova Football Team Hosts Annual Bone Marrow Drive April 19th

By Matt Leon

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - The Villanova football team is set to have their annual bone marrow donor registry drive Thursday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on campus at the Connelly Center.

Villanova head coach Andy Talley (photo) is the power behind the "Get in the Game" initiative which has spread well beyond the Main Line.

"We have 34 college football teams around the country that work with me, around the spring, to test their football team and we have over 60 college football players that have donated and saved a life. So it's just wonderful to see the strength and the competitiveness and teamwork in college football carry over to such a great deal like this; to actually save a life."

To get entered in the registry Thursday is very easy; all that is required is a cheek swab and some paperwork.
